My Meditation Journey

Meditation in Hindi means: "Dhyan".

After attending couple of Alpha Meditation programs, from quite long time, it was a question in my mind: what exactly Meditation is and how it has benefited people? So, I thought of reading book: "The Silva Mind Control method" by Jose Silva on this powerful technique: Alpha Meditation method.


After reading this book, I came to clearly understand that:

From dream to reality: Simple idea behind Meditation is to give a deep thought to your life everyday, realise your strength & keep working on skills u want to enhance. There is a form of reality in every imagination and with Mediation you get that clear vision and confidence to turn every dream into reality. It brings more creativity, ideas submerged deep within your heart will start taking a shape & you will start working on it. Your vision will start getting clearer.

Realising powerful depths of your mind: It is basically exploring powerful depths of your own mind. You will be able to start using energy you never knew you had like more confidence, calm, observant, understanding real vision of life and lot more. You will know how to "use the untapped power of your mind to accomplish whatever you desire."

Find true purpose of your life: Meditation is the time when you connect to your inner self & find your true self & purpose of life. 

First step towards anything you want to have in your life:

This book showed example of how it is beneficial even for prisoners., alcoholics, etc. An improved self-concept and ability to handle anxiety would seem to be a meaningful alternative to alcohol." and this is how Mediation can help in any area of your life. Meditation is for everyone: it can relieve drug addictions, … benefits are endless.


In nutshell, I think that Meditation should be first step towards finding solution for all your desires, skills you want to enhance: confidence, calm, addiction, obesity, anxiety, etc.

Everyone holds infinity in their mind. Its matter of realising your dreams, visualise what you desire, then make it happen!!


Way to read this book is to read complete book & then practice chapter 3 to 14. I will do Meditation regularly and practice chapter 3 to 14 & will update how well its worked out for me. Below are key points I found good from latter chapters.


Chapter 17: A: Psychiatrist works: with Mind control:

Even mind problems can be solved using mind control & dream control to find out where the problems is.

Chapter 18: Your self esteem will soar: 

"We waste too much of our time dragging ourselves under. If we spent one half of it just researching in our mind how to deal with life, we'd find we're so much stronger than we think,”

most of us are imprisoned by narrow ideas of who we are and what we can do. 

You will soon experience the exhilaration of smashing these confines and finding new freedoms outside them. When you see what you are capable of, your self-esteem will soar.

Introduce Mind Control in a school and the result will be students with more powerful self-direction, greater self- guidance stemming from improved ability to solve problems on their own.  In other words, greater ego strength.

Mind & Body go hand in hand. For example: You need to control your mind to eat healthy and feel good about it then only ur body will absorb it.

The Mind Control program graduates saw themselves as far better persons than they had earlier thought they were, and felt a new confidence in their ability to solve their own problems.

It is generally a state of mind, a damaged self-image, that puts a person in prison, and that coarsens and brutalizes him while he is there; and it is a state of mind that often ensures his quick return once he is "free."  Time spent there is no longer empty hours snatched by law from a person's life, but a rich part of life itself—hours of growing and self-discovery.

Chapter 19: Mind Control in the business world:

From an assistant biochemist: My whole mental attitude has changed; as a result I'm convinced that good tilings really happen when you look at life positively. The course, which emphasises positive thinking, helped me develop an inner peace and build up my confidence.” "Mentally, I feel better— I don't worry as much or handle everything as an emergency, and I've learned to relax and control my headaches. The key to success is belief.

From a senior systems analyst: "Increased confidence and a general feeling of well-being are results of the course, which teaches us how to recognise parts of our nature that are usually ignored. For example, the program heightens sensitivity to other people and makes us more aware of intuitive experiences that the rational mind tends to deny."

The company meets once a month for problem solving through meditation.

Examples of how it affects Intuition skills: Mind Control has solved a sweeping spectrum of problems but never, as far as anyone knew, the problem of accurately foreseeing the ups and downs of prices on Wall Street. Every month I tell myself I'm going to produce X dollars, setting higher and higher goals, and I keep making them.

I tell myself, 'I'm going to sell this guy,' and it works. Now I'm recommending Mind Control to my salesmen, my partners, even my children. I think everyone can benefit by it, and not solely in their work but in their personal lives as well. 

In terms of numbers of reports from graduates, the most impressive results are in finding new jobs. The calm self-confidence that comes from Mind Control training probably accounts for this as much as any other factor—the self-assurance necessary to seek out a better job, the greater ease with which the graduate conducts job interviews, these alone can turn the tide in a person's career.

To a person who lost his job: Jose calmly told him to keep working with his mental screen and other techniques. Three days later he called Jose in a sharply different frame of mind. He'd just landed a job paying three times as much as the one he lost.

Chapter 20: Where do we go from here?

From the moment of your first accomplishment with Mind Control you will be launched on an odyssey of self-discovery. What you learn about yourself will be all good news.

Finding that one Mind Control technique works better for you than others, you may specialise in that one and make it a reliable part of your life.

A student once asked Jose, "At what point does a person know he has gotten out of Mind Control every- thing there is to get?"

"When you can convert all your problems into projects and make your projects work out the way you want them to," he answered. Then he paused a moment and added, "No . . . it goes deeper than that When you realise what enormous powers we were all born with, when you see in your own experience that these powers can only be used constructively, you come to realise that there is a dignity and a purpose behind our presence on this planet My own opinion is that the purpose we must serve is to evolve, and this evolution is now our own, individual responsibility. I think most people have a kind of weak hunch about this. The more you practice Mind Control, the stronger this hunch becomes until it becomes a firm certainty."

It is this depth of experience that awaits you—the "firm certainty" that mere is a benign purpose behind everything. It gives power to survive pain. It give me feeling that all avengers practice daily meditation which gives me them strong determination & resistance towards pain.

Appendix: 

Some use it for health, some to help them study, others in their business lives and family relationships, and many, who say little about it use it to help others.

Everyone can use same technique to work on different areas of their life.

Mind has great capabilities, but at its normal level of functioning it is constantly bombarded by various stimuli at once: thoughts, wishes, needs, desires, noises, lights, pressures, conflicts, stresses of ail sorts; it is not free to direct more than ten percent of its attention to any one thing. At the relaxed level it is. But persons ordinarily are at that level only when they are falling asleep, and they have not practiced using that level. Most often they do not even know that it exists and can be used.  Persons learn to get a fuller attention of the mind, perhaps because it is no longer bombarded by as many external stimuli when it is relaxed. With this fuller attention, they are better able to direct the mind to do what they want it to.

In meditation state, person can find his true self, true purpose of life, and more creative ideas close to his heart. He is able to realise things that actually matter to his life, most of the things are programmed high income, expensive car, competition, etc. For example: In a competition one can forget that winning this competition might not actually matter to him, what matters to him the most is he is not actually working on.

Once a person experiences the results obtained from this level of consciousness, he never attempts to make important decisions or solve problems without using it.

The course most importantly teaches a person to use this level of mind. In addition to teaching persons to think while in the state of relaxation, the course teaches special techniques for habit control, problem solving, goal achievement, memorising, health care, pain control, sleep and dream control, etc. 

You will become more observant, have ESP experiences during the course. (Extra sensory perception: sixth sense).
